Integrative Medicine was the topic for the Newnan Kiwanis luncheon recently. Dr. John Kim, physician at the Janie Bell Powell Summit Center for Health & Healing, addressed the group.

“Integrative medicine focuses on healing, on the whole person—mind, body and spirit,” explained Dr. Kim. “It’s not anti-conventional medicine, but encompasses it as well as less conventional techniques—all for the benefit of the patient.”

Dr. Kim is board certified in preventive medicine, medical acupuncture and holistic medicine. Among his extensive training, Dr. Kim studied the Optimal Wellness Program with Dr. Andrew Weil as a residential fellow in Program in Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona. He also had the opportunity to study traditional Chinese medicine. All of these disciplines, as well as others, are used in his treatment of patients.

The Janie Bell Powell Summit Center for Health & Healing is located in Summit Healthplex, a state-of-the art wellness medical center conveniently located off Interstate 85 (Newnan Exit). For more information, visit www.summitwellbeing.com.
