The Fayette Humane Society received a $10,000 grant recently to help with the pet overpopulation problem in the Fayetteville, Ga. area.

This money will be used to offer free or reduced cost spays and neuters to low income families residing in the Fayetteville area. One of the goals of the Fayette Humane Society is to reduce the number of unwanted homeless cats and dogs in the Fayette County area. With this grant they hope to help sterilize pets and reduce the number of unwanted cats and dogs in the region.

To apply for this program and receive a certificate for free or reduced cost sterilization of your pet please give the Fayette Humane Society a call at 770-487-1073 (push ext. 1 for the spay/neuter line and leave your name and phone number, someone will call you back within 48 hours).

To adopt a new four legged member of the family, the Fayette Humane Society can be found the second, fourth, and fifth Saturdays each month at Petsmart in Fayetteville Pavilion shopping center from 12-4 p.m. with available cats, kittens, dogs and puppies.
