Fund-raising is still ongoing for the Fayette County High School Marching Band as they prepare for their trip to perform in the 2007 Rose Bowl Parade over the New Year’s holiday.

Band students are currently offering $10 Krispy Kreme gift cards to help raise money for the trip. Funds raised will only be used for students’ costs, as any parents attending will be responsible for their costs. The group is looking for between $40,000 and $50,000 to pay for transportation of the students and equipment, offset students’ costs and have emergency funds on hand just in case while in California.

This event will be the swan song for long-time FCHS band director Kenny Beard. A total of 163 students are going, including a few students from the Whitewater High School Marching Band.
