“The Healing Rest of God” is the theme of a two-day conference scheduled for St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Newnan Friday and Saturday, Dec. 1 and 2.

”The poignancy of hosting of conference about resting in God during the busiest time of the year is not lost on us,” noted the Rev. Russell Kendrick, rector of the church on Roscoe Road. “This conference will offer people in the south metro area an opportunity to pull the plug on pre-Christmas hysteria.”

On Friday evening and Saturday there will be music, prayer and talks by the Rev. Jack Sheffield and Mrs. Anna Marie Sheffield of San Antonio, Texas, leading authorities in this type of ministry and the founders of Deep River Ministries. Their organization is an interdenominational healing ministry committed to healing individuals, the church, places and situations.

The Friday evening session will be from 6:30 - 9 p.m. The hours on Saturday are 8:30 a.m. until about 3 p.m. Breakfast and lunch will be provided on Saturday.

The conference is sponsored by the Healing Intercessors and the Health and Healing Ministries of St. Paul’s. There is no cost to attend, although the Sheffields do depend on contributions to fund their work.

To reserve a space, call the church, 770-328-5151. Additional information about the Sheffields’ ministry may be found at deepriverministries.org.

St. Paul’s, 576 Roscoe Road, is a growing congregation of the Episcopal Diocese of Atlanta. The parish is the only congregation in Coweta County affiliated with the worldwide Anglican Communion, a body of more than 70 million Christians.
