Sponsors wanting to make a less fortunate kid’s Christmas wishes come true are being sought to participate in this year’s Santa’s Copilots program at Falcon Field in Peachtree City.

Children from five families selected by the Department of Family and Children Services will be given gifts from their wish list, and sponsors are needed to get the items on those lists. Monetary donations are also being accepted to buy gifts that can’t be donated.

The gifts will be presented in a special Christmas party Saturday, Dec. 10 at the airport’s terminal building. After breakfast, Santa and his copilots, their planes stocked with presents, will taxi down the runway for a special appearance. Each child will get to sit on Santa’s lap, and tell him their most prized Christmas wish.

There will also be food, games and other entertainment for the families to enjoy.

Already, Cub Scout Pack 75 and the Peachtree City Huddle House have stepped up to help with donations this year, said organizer Matt Davis. This is the event’s third year. Last year the event supported about 30 children, and a $1,200 donation was made to the Rainbow House of Clayton County which had suffered a catastrophic fire.
