A one-car crash on Helmer Road Saturday evening killed the driver of the car, according to the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office.

Jonathan Q. Hollis, 23, of Riverdale, was driving west on Helmer when the car entered a curve at a high speed, causing the vehicle to leave the road, police said. Hollis then lost control of the vehicle, causing it to overturn, police said.

Hollis, who was not wearing his seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle. He was traveling alone, police said.

This is the fourth fatal crash this year in unincorporated Fayette County.
