Citizens of Fayette County, when all is said and done, it will not matter who won or lost any election. What did matter was the 33,917 [votes] cast in our great county.

The loyalty and support from my 10,163 votes showed strength and fortitude and I thank each and every one of you from the bottom of my heart.

I believe that Jack Smith will do a good job in the face of overwhelming odds that we both faced at one time or another.

I am grateful for my support and making a difference in my community, a place called Fayette County, Ga. I had so much fun meeting citizens all over the county.

The best part is I look forward to working with all of you in the future on many issues where we share common concerns for the good of the greatest country in the world, the United States of America

Rod Mack
Peachtree City, Ga.

Editor’s note: Mr. Mack was the Democrat candidate for the Fayette County Commission seat won by Jack Smith (R).
