Mary Purcell, 86, Fayetteville, died Nov. 8, 2006. She was born in 1920 in Zanesville, Ohio, daughter of Oscar and Hazel Johnson. She was preceded in death by her husband, John B. Purcell. She moved to Atlanta in 1951 and retired in 1985 as an administrative secretary with the Social Security Administration Regional Office. She was a member of Bible Baptist Church, Hampton, for over 20 years. Services were at the Bible Baptist Church with Pastor Brad Blanton and Pastor Norman Pyle officiating. Interment was at Sherwood Memorial Gardens, Jonesboro. Survivors include daughters, Margaret and James Conley, Fayetteville, Linda and Mike Hutchison, and Marilyn and Fred Staats, all of Hendersonville, Tenn., and Donna and David Patrick, Chattanooga, Tenn.; 13 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Memorial donations may be given to the Bible Baptist Church Mission Fund, 2780 Mt. Carmel Rd., Hampton, GA 30228. This would aid a missions project in India of one of her grandchildren. Carl J.
