Cooper Industries donates to Cattle Barons' Ball

Cooper Industries presented a check for $10,000 to Susan Osborne, chairperson of the fourth annual Barons' Ball for the American Cancer Society - Fayette County. The generous donation designates Cooper Industries as an Emerald sponsor for the event which was held Nov. 4 at the Wyndham Peachtree Conference Center in Peachtree City.

Cooper Industries is a global manufacturer of electrical products and tools and employs approximately 29,000 people and operates nine divisions: Cooper B-Line, Cooper Bussmann, Cooper Crouse-Hinds, Cooper Hand Tools, Cooper Lighting, Cooper Menvier, Cooper Power Systems, Cooper Power Tools and Cooper Wiring Devices.

This is the Cooper Industries first contribution to the Barons' Ball.  Cooper Industries believes that corporate citizenship means being responsive to the interests and concerns of their employees, their shareholders and the individuals living in the many communities where they are a significant employer. Cooper is committed to enhancing the quality of life in these communities by providing financial support to local non-profit organizations. This generous donation to the American Cancer Society fulfills that mission by supporting and assisting local cancer patients and their families and also contributing to research and development in finding a cure for cancer.

The Barons’ Ball is a major source of funding for the American Cancer Society. The annual event has raised over $650, 000, including over $190,000 this year. The proceeds from this event will contribute to the local programs of the American Cancer Society that are made available to our community free of charge as well as funding research and development.
