OLM boys and Landmark girls win Class A titles, Lethbridge and Enriquez are individual champs

The GHSA state cross country championships were held in Carrollton on Saturday and area runners did very well once again. Our Lady of Mercy’s boys and Landmark Christian’s girls won state championships in Class A, while Starr’s Mill’s Austin Enriquez and OLM’s Matt Lethbridge were individual state champions.

In the Class A boys race, the Bobcats won the championship with a total of 35 points. Landmark was in second with 79 points. Mercy had three runners in the top five and five in the top 14. They were:
• Matt Lethbridge, 1, 16:31
• Jake Lethbridge, 3, 16:52
• Thomas Raville, 5, 16:55
• Tim Kennedy, 12, 17:30
• Jared Cooper, 14, 17:34

Landmark’s top five were:
• Chad Thames, 7, 17:14
• Alex Pike, 13, 17:31
• Michael Leonard, 18, 18:03
• Daniel Rix, 19, 18:07
• Mehamed Gomez, 22, 18:25

On the girls’ side, Landmark Christian placed first with 57 points, while the Lady Bobcats of Our Lady of Mercy took fifth with 148 points.
Landmark’s top five were:
• Kaity Bulger, 20:20
• Hannah Gravitt, 5, 20:37
• Christian McGuire, 16, 22:02
• Georgiana Moody, 20, 22:27
• Kassi Deel, 24, 22:38

Mercy’s top five were:
• Sarah Hohenberger, 9, 21:28
• Jessica Adams, 12, 21:46
• Lauren Hohenberger, 33, 23:23
• Ashley Kennedy, 50, 24:27
• Kelsey Oberst, 57, 24:50

In the Class AAAA boys race, Enriquez took the top individual prize with a time of 16:01. The Starr’s Mill boys placed 13th overall with these four runners following Enriquez.

• Matthew Beeson, 103, 18:27
• Clayton Epling, 107, 18:33
• Steven Labrecque, 114, 18:40

McIntosh followed in 14th place. Their top five were:
• Michael Mateos, 12, 16:48
• Cormac Carolan Tolbert, 49, 17:45
• Matt Lein, 92, 18:21
• Brian Huefner, 126, 18:49
• Craig Western, 129, 18:52

Fayette County’s Ryan Kennedy ran the race and finished 19th with a time of 17:06.

On the girls’ side of the Class AAAA race, McIntosh placed second overall, while Starr’s Mill placed seventh and Whitewater placed 14th.
The top five runners for McIntosh were:

• Rebecca Stokes, 42, 21:07
• Kaia Hampton, 44, 21:09
• Libby Taylor, 59, 21:33

Starr’s Mill’s top five were:
• Jackie Sample, 2, 19:42
• Molly Musselwhite, 30, 20:51
• Sarah Balkcom, 34, 20:55
• Jamie Burr, 50, 21:16
• Ginny Hyer, 75, 21:53

Whitewater’s top five were:
• Brianna Londrillo, 29, 20:51
• Kasie Knapper, 40, 21:05
• Katie Arrington, 103, 22:29
• Feagan Hunt, 111, 22:45
• Melinda Thayer, 121, 22:59

In the Class AAA girls race, Sandy Creek placed
Their top five were:
• Alexis Blackburn, 29, 21:24
• Marina Fleming, 88, 23:47
• Shelby Bolling, 122, 24:38
• Mia Jones, 140, 25:10
• Kelly Coffey, 176, 27:09
