Twelve years ago on Christmas Eve, Scott Calvin put on Santa’s suit and became Santa Claus. Then, Santa discovered that he had to get married. Now the magic man is back and this time Santa (Tim Allen) will have to deal with Jack Frost (Martin Short) in the final chapter of the Santa Clause trilogy.

Santa is having some problems at work and at home. He can’t spend enough time at home and at work. His wife, Carol (Elizabeth Mitchell) is about to have a baby and she just hopes that Santa won’t be delivering presents when she’s delivering the baby. Things get even worse when Jack Frost, the king of the cold, shows up at a Legendary Figures meeting, charged with the crime of attempting to impersonate Santa. They almost decide to kick Frost off the Legendary Figures Council when Carol, Mrs. Claus, starts missing her relatives and wants to see them. So Santa puts Frost in charge of things (with Curtis, played by Spencer Breslin, looking over him) so he can go and get Carol’s parents.

But with Santa gone, Frost starts freezing trouble for the elves. He sabotages the machines with his frosty breath. Then Frost tricks Curtis into telling him what the Escape Clause is. (You’ll have to see the movie yourself to see what it is!). When Santa gets back with Carol’s dopey relatives (Ann Margaret and Alan Arkin who think they are in Canada), the trouble Frost caused starts making Santa even busier than before and Frost starts trying to turn Santa’s family against him.

“The Santa Clause 3” wasn’t exactly as good as the second one, but it was funny, just like the others. They should probably discontinue the series because if they made another one it would probably stink. Plus, now that all the relatives have been to the North Pole it’s not a secret anymore! It would start to feel like a resort. (Hee hee).

I enjoyed seeing the Legendary Figures again, but I really didn’t like that they cut Santa’s number one elf, Bernard, out of the picture. Lucy, (Liliana Mumy) who is Scott’s ex-wife Laura’s daughter, is back again and has a really big part in this movie. She expressed herself very well with her facial expressions! Two other cast members are back, Eric Lloyd as Charlie and the hilarious Judge Reinhold as Neal, Lucy’s dad. His sweaters are just as dopey as they used to be and he is teaching the elves yoga in this movie!

It took about 45 minutes to get to a part of the movie where something actually happens. I think they should have had a little less character background and moved on to the scenes that were more important in the movie. Or at least had a little more action or humor.

I recommend this for all ages-72 year olds would even like this.
