When Fayette-Coweta Family Theatre's (FCFT) Select Performers take to the stage at the Fayette Family YMCA to present "An Evening of Broadway, 2006" the lodge house will rock with the sounds of “Godspell,” soar with the music of “Oklahoma,” giggle with songs from “Seussical,” enchant with memorable selection from “Beauty and the Beast,” beat with the rhythms of “The Lion King,” touch hearts with the themes from “Fiddler On The Roof,” serenade us in the melodies of “Les Miserables” and hypnotize all with the harmonies and powerful vocal selections from “Wicked.”

Yes, there is a little something for all tastes in this year's show which will be presented at the Fayette Family YMCA Lodge House at 215 Huiet Road in Fayetteville on November 9, 10 and 11 at 7 p.m. and November 11 and 12 at 2:30 p.m. Seating will begin 20-minutes prior to show time.

The cast has been working hard getting all the songs perfected and the staging learned, and the results are spectacular.

"The voices we have assembled this year are nothing short of marvelous," said FCFT artistic director Tammy Barton.
Under the musical directions of Jennifer Wallace, the cast has rehearsed and staged some 26 numbers from eight well-known Broadway shows.

"The really exciting thing about this show is that so many people are part of the production team," stated Barton. "Many of the performers are taking an active role in various aspects of the show, such as musical arrangement, staging of numbers, choreography, accompaniment and costumes. With so much creative energy surrounding this production it promises to be one show-stopping number after another.”

The performances will also feature delicious homemade desserts and beverages, which will be served at intermission. The dessert buffet will include pumpkin cheesecake with pecans and maple syrup, moist chocolate cake with fresh fruit garnish, old-fashioned banana pudding, coffee, tea, hot chocolate and ice water.

Last year's production was received with such enthusiasm and support that FCFT had no choice but to stage an all new Broadway review this year and the response has been overwhelming with anticipation rising and reservations for the show going fast.

Reservations are required and seating is very limited, so make your reservation today by calling 770-251-7611 or visit the FCFT Web site at www.fcft.net/HomePage and reserve through the reservation link on that page.

Admission is $15 general and $13 under 13 years and seniors 65+. However, the most inexpensive way to see the show and enjoy the desserts is to purchase a full table, that seats 8, for $95. This averages out to be just under $12 each. Tables must be paid for by one check and reservations for more than one table do require a deposit at time of reservation.
