Senoia City Administrator Richard Ferry unveiled the city’s budget next year during this week’s council meeting and said it’s a “very modest’ increase over last year.

The $1.9 million general fund budget features merit raises, along with three percent cost of living raises for the city’s employees. The budget calls for no increase in personnel, but Ferry said the city is looking at a different way of staffing the police department that would allow all shifts to be staffed adequately.

One of the interesting items budgeted this year is a four-wheel drive vehicle. The city is looking to purchase a used vehicle to get to “areas that we can’t currently reach with a conventional vehicle,” Ferry said.

Ferry said the budget call for no tax increase.

The final budget will be approved in December.
