The Peachtree City Council meeting scheduled for Thursday night has been cancelled due to lack of a quorum, it was announced Wednesday morning.
Not enough council members can show up to take any action at the meeting, officials noted. The city charter requires that either four council members — or three council member plus the mayor — be in attendance for any official vote to be taken.
Mayor Steve Brown is attending an election debate at McIntosh High School at 7:30 p.m.; Councilwoman Judi-ann Rutherford indicated some time ago that she would have to miss this meeting, according to city staff.
City Council meetings are scheduled for 7 p.m. on the first and third Thursdays of each month.
