Amanda Rose Sloan and Nathan Scott Young were married on May 6, 2006, at Ingleside Baptist Church in Macon. The Rev. Tim McCoy officiated. A wedding reception was held at the church after the ceremony.

The bride, given in marriage by her parents, wore her mother’s wedding gown which featured an empire waist and lace bodice trimmed with pearls. Pearls also adorned the train. She carried a spring bouquet of daisies and pastel-colored pixie carnations.

Bonnie Sample of Tampa, Fla., was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Amber Brown of Augusta, Mrs. Holly DeFore of Macon, and Mrs. Lauren Evans of Pooler. Lorette Edwards, cousin of the bride, was flower girl.

Rodney R. Young, father of the groom, was best man. Groomsmen were Dan Young of Alpharetta, brother of the groom, Micah Nance of Macon, and John Cook of Macon. Roscoe Beitel, cousin of the groom, was ring bearer.

Musicians were Adrian Gnam, oboe soloist, and Scott Copeland, pianist.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth G. Sloan of Ellenwood.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Rodney R. Young of Fayetteville.

After a honeymoon cruise to the Caribbean, the couple resides in Macon.
