I want to thank the citizens of Peachtree City for allowing me the privilege of serving them on the City Council. I am ready and anxious to get to work for you as your council member. I have been given the opportunity to represent you and have the next four years to uphold your trust in me.

I also want to thank my opponent, Steve Rapson, for his service to our city as well as his offer to help me transition into City Hall. Steve should be commended for his work for Peachtree City and I personally appreciate his above-board and challenging campaign.

Finally, I want to express my thanks for all the welcoming and congratulating phone calls from various members of government throughout the county. I greatly look forward to working with you on the various issues all of our constituents face and to forging lasting personal relationships with you.

I have spent the last several years, and especially the last couple of months, getting to meet our citizens and asking them what issues they want addressed by city government. My commitment to you, my constituents, is to always listen to your concerns and be available and accessible.

I am only in office as your representative, so I need to hear your voice. Please contact me about any concerns or observations about the city council and the issues that we all face as Peachtree City residents.

I want to reiterate the important items that were from my campaign platform:

• Establish city-working relationships with surrounding communities as well as the Fayette County commissioners.

• Freeze tax at current level and repeal or lower taxes if not justified or needed. Tie the budget to citizens’ objectives and include citizens’ approval.

• Align Peachtree City master-planning to validate future objectives.

• I support the West Village annexation.

• Complete TDK Boulevard to Coweta County.

• I support new business development and expansion in the city. We need to re-energize the Development Authority to stimulate new businesses and facilitate their coordination with the Fayette County Development Authority.

• Develop city vision to support long-term city goals and objectives.

Again, a special thanks to all Peachtree City citizens. My e-mail is stephenwboone (at) sboonecitycouncil.com. My cell is 678-488-0080.
