Ines Arnsberger Hatch, an author, speaker and screenwriter, signed with entertainment attorney/agent Darryl B. Cohen of Cohen, Cooper, Estep, Mudder & Whiteman, Atlanta, Ga. recently.

“I am proud of my accomplishments and intend to help others in similar situations achieve and succeed.” stated Hatch. “Every accomplishment, however small, should be celebrated.”

Hatch’s genre deals with social issues ranging from trials and tribulations of handicapped children, poverty and substance abuse. Through her lectures, Hatch inspires audiences and speaks of the value of hard work and perseverance. She is not oblivious to the problems facing teens: being with the “in” crowd, alcohol, drugs, pregnancy, methamphetamines and peer pressure.

Now that Hatch has signed with Cohen, he will represent her by pitching her story to New York publishers like Simon & Schuster, and he agrees Hatch’s story of survival recovery and perseverance will affect children and families nationwide. Through determination, Hatch attained what was thought of as only a dream 36 years ago.

At age six she was dragged by a horse, resulting in a coma she was in for seven weeks. Doctors told Hatch’s parents she would be a vegetable at best. She awoke and was faced with relearning everything like a newborn: standing, walking and talking. Hatch had brain damage to the left side of the cerebrum, the side which controls speech and logical behavior, which caused her fine motor tuning and balance to be severely retarded. Nothing less than a miracle kept her alive, Hatch says.

“The value of life and how quickly it can be taken away became evident for my family at a very early age.” Hatch said. Only continual care and dedication made it possible for recovery and any positive future for her.

So far, Ines Arnsberger Hatch has spoken to support groups including The Brain Injury Resource Foundation, numerous Kiwanis and Rotary clubs and is working to provide inspiration for patients and their families as well as employees of hospitals and foundations.

Hatch has plans to come out with a video and an inspirational CD to further positive attitudes for those challenged. For more information contact Hatch at inesahatch@aol.com.
