Mary Grace Kimsey of Fayetteville, Ga., has been selected as a member of IMPACT, the University of Mobile's praise-and-worship choir.

The 2005 graduate of Landmark Christian School is the daughter of Becky Kimsey of Fayetteville. Kimsey, a member of Dogwood Church, is a sophomore majoring in worship leadership. In addition to IMPACT, she is part of UM's University Singers.

"I love the fact that I am given the opportunity at UM to be in a group where I can worship God using the gifts He's given me," said Kimsey.

IMPACT performs the praise-and-worship music of influential songwriters and artists like Don Moen, Desperation Band, Travis Cottrell, Darlene Zschech, Matt Redman, and more under the direction of Pete Sanchez, UM's assistant professor of church music and director of the church music and worship renewal program. Members participate in the annual Center for the Performing Arts (CPA) recording and perform in A Night of Worship, StarLight, UM's annual Christmas Spectacular and other CPA music presentations.

The University of Mobile is a private university affiliated with the Alabama Baptist State Convention. Over 1,600 students are enrolled in undergraduate and graduate programs in the College of Arts and Sciences, School of Business, School of Christian Studies, School of Education, School of Nursing, Center for Performing Arts and Center for Adult Programs.
