GMC announces the addition of education associate degree programsWed, 11/01/2006 - 11:30am

GMC Junior College in Union City, Ga. announces that it is one of the first junior colleges in the state of Georgia to offer four new associate degree education programs: early care and education, early childhood education, middle grades education, and secondary education. GMC’s new early care and education program concentrates on the birth through five years old child care area and allows students to investigate best practice theories and participate in field experiences in a diverse child development setting. Graduates may choose from a variety of career options including working in Head Start, preschool and childcare programs, child life programs, and early intervention areas. Early childhood education, middle grades education and secondary education programs are easily transferable for those GMC graduates desiring to continue their education in specific fields of study. Early care and education graduates are also are eligible for admission as transfer students to any of the participating baccalaureate institutions offering the early care and education teacher certification programs.
