Karyn Staples, PMPT, OCS has opened ProHealth, a physical therapy and Pilates studio, at 1401 Georgian Park in Peachtree City. The studio conveys a private, spa-like atmosphere. Staples, the local owner, brings unique skills and capabilities to our community. She is an orthopedic clinical specialist, a womens health specialist, one a few therapists in Georgia that is Ironman Level III Active Release Techniques credentialed, and a nationally certified Polestar Pilates instructor. She is currently pursuing her doctorate of health sciences at Rocky Mountain University in orthopedics with a subspecialty in womens health. As a physical therapist, Staples applies a hands-on, one-on-one approach to therapy, and has successfully treated a broad spectrum of patients from the elderly to professional triathletes and baseball players with musculoskeletal problems (back, shoulder, neck, knee, etc.). She has also eased the stress in the lives of many women dealing with uncomfortable womens health concerns by successfully treating such issues as incontinence, pelvic pain, general musculoskeletal pain, and pregnancy-related challenges. ProHealth accepts nearly all insurance plans. As a nationally certified Polestar Pilates instructor, Staples offers private and semi-private sessions (1-4 persons), utilizing the original equipment developed by Joseph Pilates, in addition to advanced mat work. Pilates combines strengthening and lengthening of muscles, with particular focus on the core, the midsection of the body. Women of all ages and fitness goals, from the beginner to the advanced, have realized a longer, leaner, more-toned appearance. Triathletes have improved their race performance by adding Pilates core strengthening to their training regimen. Golfers have added driving distance and club head speed by improving flexibility and generating more torque through a strengthened core.
