E. H. "Ray" Hovey, 68, Newnan, died Oct. 16, 2006. He was born March 31, 1938 in Eufaula, Ala. He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer Harmon and Florine Jones Hovey, and a brother, Thomas Wesley Hovey III. He was a member of Fayetteville Christian Church, where he served for 20 years as deacon, elder, and trustee, as well as teaching the Lamplighters Sunday School Class. Services were at the Fayetteville Christian Church with the Rev. Dr. Dan Roberts officiating. Interment was at Westminster Memorial Gardens, Peachtree City. Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Ann G. Hovey, Newnan; a son, David and Anne Hovey, Newnan; daughters, Donna and Matthew Horton, Lawrenceville, and Kim and Chuck Bankston, Barnesville; grandchildren, Lauren and Elizabeth Hovey, Ryan and Rachel Horton, and Chad, Abby, and Katie Bankston; and sisters, Judy Polzun and Gail Keohan, both of Tyrone. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville, was in charge.
