Irene VanDevender, 97, Fayetteville, died Oct. 15, 2006. She was born April 14, 1909 in Fayette County, daughter of Ponie and Lena Snead Hewell. Services were at the Fayetteville First United Methodist Church with interment at Fayetteville City Cemetery. Survivors include nieces, Ada B. Hewell, Peachtree City, and Mary and Danny Tate, Thomaston; great nieces and nephews, Jeanne and Andy Chambers, Peachtree City, Jan and Tony Adamson, and Jerry and Robin Hewell, all of Fayetteville, and Billy Tate and Bobby Tate, both of Thomaston; and great-great nieces and nephews, Alison Chambers, Peachtree City, Kipp Chambers, Los Angeles, and T. J. Adamson, Fayetteville. Parrott Funeral Home, Fairburn, was in charge.
