Mr. and Mrs. Mason Morris Griffin of Vestavia Hills, Ala. announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Jessica Lee Griffin, to Olen Prater Kuhr, son of Mr. and Mrs. Denny Kuhr of Peachtree City.

The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Mrs. Edwin Arlo Joiner of Meridian, Miss. and the late Mr. Joiner, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Morris Webster Griffin of Quitman, Miss. She is a graduate of Vestavia Hills High School. She received a bachelor’s degree in history from Furman University in Greenville, S.C., where she was a member of the softball team and Delta Delta Delta Sorority. She received a master of library and information science degree from the University of Alabama and currently is employed as a public services librarian at the Fayette County Public Library in Fayetteville.

The groom-elect is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Kolterman and Mr. and Mrs. Martin Kuhr of Blair, Neb. He is a graduate of Starr’s Mill High School in Fayetteville. He received a bachelor of business administration degree at the University of West Georgia where he was a member of the Management Club. He currently is employed in Peachtree City as a business manager with Kiewit Southern, a heavy construction company.

The wedding is planned for Dec. 23, 2006 at 3 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Quitman, Miss.
