Joe “Opa” Roth Sr., 72, Fayetteville, died Nov. 7, 2005. He was born Jan. 13, 1933 in Kohlburg, Germany. He immigrated to the United States in 1953 and served in the United States Army from 1953 to 1955. He was an aircraft mechanic. He loved the outdoors and the ocean and was an avid hiker, skier, and golfer, as well as a skilled woodworker. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church since 1977. A funeral mass was at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with the Rev. Father Diosmar Natad officiating. Interment was at Camp Memorial Park, Fayetteville. Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Eileen Roth, Fayetteville; sons, Joseph and Marianne Roth Jr., Sharpsburg, and Rob and Kim Roth, Cumming; a daughter, Krista and James Ginn, Sharpsburg; grandchildren, Alexander Roth Shae Roth, Michael Roth, Katie Roth, Kelly Roth, and Jillian Ginn; and sisters, Maria Treindle, Anne Marie Sputnik, and Christine Roth-Winkler, all of Regensburg, Germany. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Peachtree City, was in charge. login to post comments |
