Peachtree City residents are being encouraged to help spruce up the cart path system in a special event Saturday, Nov. 4 The “Cart Path Cleanup” is sponsored by the Peachtree City Kiwanis Club, which will coordinate local volunteers and provide trash bags. The club has asked homeowner’s associations, scout troops and civic organizations to participate. “This is an easy way to help take care of our city,” said Kiwanis chairman Greg Hall. “If we enlist enough people, our plan is to break the city up into manageable areas and assign each group a time of approximately two hours.” Hall, who also serves as Lt. Governor of Division 23 Georgia District Kiwanis, indicates the Kiwanis Club hopes to hold cleanups on a quarterly basis. Peachtree City Mayor Harold Logsdon, who is a member of the Peachtree City Kiwanis Club, thanked the club for taking on the project. “Litter along our roads and paths has been a growing problem, and the cleanup is a great way for folks to make an immediate, visible impact on our path system,” Logsdon said. Residents, businesses, or clubs interested in participating in the November 4 event can contact Hall at greglhall@mindspring.com to sign up. login to post comments |
