St. Christopher’s Orthodox church gets ready for ‘Taverna Night’ this Saturday

St. Christopher Hellenic Orthodox Church in Peachtree City invites members of the community to “Taverna Night 2006,” Saturday, Oct. 21, at St. Andrews in-the-Pines Episcopal Church’s fellowship hall. St. Andrew’s also is in Peachtree City.

Taverna Night in Peachtree City will offer an authentic Greek dining experience. The evening begins at 6:30 p.m. with Mezethes (appetizers) with dinner served at 7:15 p.m.

Topping off the evening’s fare are Baklava and Galaktoboureko (layered custard baked in phyllo pastry). Beer and wine also will be provided. The evening also will include dancing to live Greek music.

Tickets are now on sale for $50 each or a table of eight for $400, which includes all food and drinks. Only 200 tickets will be sold.

St. Christopher Hellenic Orthodox Church in Peachtree City serves the southern Atlanta metropolitan area of Clayton, Coweta, Fayette, Henry, Spalding and South Fulton counties.
