Members of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Sharpsburg recently were taken on tours for first glimpses of their new facility on Lower Fayetteville Road. The event featured an outdoor Mass (hastily moved indoors to East Coweta High School due to rain), a picnic and tours hosted by the church’s furnishings and finishes committee. Shown above and below are interior and exterior views of the new sanctuary. Several more months of construction are expected before completion. The church started several years ago as a mission of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Peachtree City and is on Lower Fayetteville Road near the intersection of lower Fayetteville and McCollum-Sharpsburg Road (Ga. Hwy. 154). Masses currently are held on Saturdays and Sundays at East Coweta High School. Photos/Special.
