The American Red Cross - Coweta County Chapter has kicked off its 3rd annual HEROES fundraising campaign this month. The HEROES campaign, scheduled to run through Oct. 31 raises funds to support ongoing disaster relief and health and safety programs for Coweta County residents. The target goal this year is to raise $25,000 for needed services in the county.

The HEROES campaign is a grassroots community based program that allows individuals and businesses to impact our community by raising money to support the Coweta County American Red Cross. Anyone can become a HERO. Individuals, businesses and corporate sponsors can participate by raising or donating designated fund amounts. Participants receive certificates and newspaper recognition. This years suggested amounts are $250 Bronze, $500 Silver and $1000 Gold.

A celebration BBQ dinner is today from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 473 Grieson Trail. The cost of the BBQ plate is $7.
