The City of Peachtree City is seeking volunteers for positions on the city’s recreation commission, airport authority and water and sewer authority for terms beginning in January of 2006. The recreation commission advises the mayor and council on expenditures for recreation programming and facilities. The appointment is for a three-year term. The recreation commission meets on the third Monday of each month, 6:30 p.m., at City Hall. The airport authority is a separate legal entity from the city, and manages the operations at Falcon Field airport. The appointment will be for a five-year term. The airport authority meets on the second Thursday of each month, 7 p.m., at the airport. The water and sewerage authority is also a separate legal entity from the City which manages the sewer system serving Peachtree City residents. The appointment is for a five-year term. The water and sewerage authority meets on the first Monday of each month, 6:30 p.m., at the authority’s offices on Highway 74 South. Applicants for these volunteer, non-paying positions must have lived in the city for at least six months. Applications are available at City Hall and are due by 5 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 17.
