We all heard how the Islamic fundamentalists have decreed that the Pope and Christians must be killed. I’m sure you’re all as shocked as I am. But we should be used to it by now. These are not people who share the same concepts or beliefs as loving, peaceful people. They are driven by a madness that is capturing the thoughts and actions of men and women around the world.

To my Christian brothers and sisters I say, pray. Pray that God, in his infinite wisdom and love, will change the hearts of these radical terrorists and their followers. If we trust in God, we have nothing to fear, for God is infinitely wiser then the wisest of us.

Hatred, war and destruction will not bring about peace. But don’t mistake what I am saying. We are called to defend ourselves, our families and our way of life.

I would challenge every person, both here and abroad, to begin praying in earnest for these misguided and lost people. I pray for their salvation and I pray that God will show them the truth. I pray for the peace of this nation and all nations throughout the world.
