James J. Steinbach, Lt. Colonel, retired, 71, Peachtree City, died Oct. 5, 2006. He was born Jan. 17, 1935 in Cook, Illinois. A Mass of Resurrection was held at St. Matthew's Catholic Church with the Rev. Father Paul Berney and the Rev. Bill Hampton celebrants. Survivors include his wife, Ellen Steinbach, Peachtree City; sons, Steven and Karen Steinbach, Finksburg, Md., Chris Steinbach and Carey Sheahan, Ellicott City, Md., and Greg Steinbach, Houston, Texas; daughters, Therese and Grant Hamlin, Auckland, New Zealand, Mara and Ken Sparks, Seattle, Wash., Lori Wohlgemuth, Louisville, Ky., and Janice and Steven Snider, Newton, Mass. Parrott Funeral Home, Fairburn, was in charge.
