Piedmont Physicians Group at Peachtree

Piedmont Physicians Group at Peachtree City recently committed to being the Ticket Sponsor for the 2006 American Cancer Society Barons’ Ball. The seven physicians, who practice out of the Peachtree City–West Park location, recently presented a check for $1,500 to Barons’ Ball Chairperson Susan Osborne and American Cancer Society’s community income manager Nychelle Williams.

Piedmont Physicians at Peachtree City specialize in primary care, looking after their patients’ total well-being. They help patients maintain general health and because they’re part of Piedmont Healthcare they know which specialists to call when their patients need additional help. These physicians are members of the Piedmont Physicians Group (PPG). The Piedmont Physicians Group has more than 70 primary care physicians in a network of 20 offices throughout metro Atlanta. The Piedmont Physicians Group (PPG) is a subsidiary of Piedmont Healthcare, the parent organization of Piedmont Hospital.

Due to the general health nature of their practice, the Piedmont Physicians are often the medical professionals who diagnose patients with cancer. After referring a cancer diagnosed patient to a specialist, they also refer patients to the American Cancer Society Web site, www.cancer.org, or the 24-hour help line, 1-800-ACS-2345, for additional information or patient support. The American Cancer Society has provided the physicians with written information to distribute to their patients. The services provided by the American Cancer Society are made available to local residents, free of charge. Some of the funds raised at the Barons’ Ball will be used to support these services.

The fourth annual American Cancer Society - Fayette County Barons’ Ball will be held on Saturday, Nov. 4 at the Wyndam Peachtree Conference Center.

Sponsorship opportunities are still available. Tickets for the ball are now available by phoning the local American Cancer Society office at 770-460-8920 or by registering on line at www.baronsball.com.
