The advanced drama students at Starr’s Mill High School will present “The Rise and Rise of Daniel Rocket” Oct. 12-15 at Willie Duke Auditorium at Starr’s Mill High School.  Performances Oct. 12-14 begin at 7 p.m.; a matinee will be performed Oct. 15 at 2:30. Tickets are $5 at the door. 

David Spearman, chairman of the Starr’s Mill drama department, said this moving play showcases the fine acting talents of his advanced drama II class, which he selects by audition. 

“This play challenges the students to portray characters at various ages in their lives and to interpret a riveting story about the difficulties of adolescence and how others can impact the direction of our lives,” Spearman explained. 

The playwright, Peter Parnell, also wrote “The Cider House Rules,” which became a hit movie.
