Citizens of Coweta and surrounding counties will have a unique opportunity to hear candidates for local and national office debate one another on October 11, 2006. Candidate for U.S. House of Representatives Lynn Westmoreland (R) will debate candidate Mike McGraw (D). Candidates for the Coweta County Commission, Jett Smith (D) and Tim Lasseter (R) and Col. Willie Boyd (D) and Randolph Collins (R) will debate local issues. The debates will be held at the Central Education Center at 160 Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive, Newnan, Georgia.

The debates will begin at 7:00 p.m. with the County Commission candiates. The candidates for the U.S. House of Representatives will begin their debate at 8:00 p.m. Our moderator will be Joselyn Dorsey of WSB-TV Channel 2. These debates are sponsored by both the Democratic Party of Coweta County and the Republican Party of Coweta County.
