TDK: how will my kids get to school safely?

Getting kids to school safely is one of the most fundamental transportation questions parents face. In 1969, according to the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), about half of all children ages five to 18 either walked or biked to school. In 2001, 85 percent of all children between five and 15 were chauffeured to school by either a parent or a bus driver. This change has had a disastrous effects on the morning commute and on the sense of community around schools.

Because of Peachtree City's unique golf cart path system, we have a much higher number of our kids getting to school without needing to ride in a car (e.g., they walk, bike, or ride golf carts).

TDK will shatter this unique situation.
Thanks to our heartless current politicans, who are allowing this highway to be built, our PTC kids will have a much greater exposure to pedestrian accidents when the traffic counts soar (74, Crosstown, Peachtree Pkwy, Robinson Road, Planterra Ridge area, etc.) due to thousands of Coweta cut through drivers. After a few well publicized tragic accidents, many parents will start driving their kids to school - - only making the vehicular congestion that much worse.

Thank you, mayor and city council, for your concerns for child safety!!
