Warrants have been issued for a Stockbridge man for the armed robbery of a downtown Fayetteville antique store, police said. James Edward Rochester, 44, of 200 Vienna Cove is charged with armed robbery, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, police said. Rochester is implicated in the Sept. 8 robbery of the Brannon Antiques store on West Lanier Avenue. Rochester was arrested recently after robbing a Woodstock store, and Fayetteville detectives were able to match physical evidence in Rochester’s possession to the antique store robbery, police said. Rochester was on parole for armed robbery at the time of the incident, and if he is convicted he could be sent back to prison with no chance of parole. Police said the suspect brandished a chrome revolver and forced two store employees to walk outside the store after he got money from them. Fayetteville police also announced that a suspect shot and killed in a police standoff in Cobb County has been confirmed as the same person who committed four robberies in the city from May to August. Christopher Shawn Mosley of East Point was identified as the suspect by one of the victims, and he matched the physical description in each robbery, police said. Each of those robberies also had similarities that indicated he was involved with all four, police said. The robberies linked to Mosley occurred at Pizza Hut, The Herb Shop, Blimpie and Southern Crescent Bank. login to post comments |
