By: The Citizen
The Peachtree City Optimist Club held its 17th annual golf tournament on Monday, September 11 at Planterra Ridge Golf Center. Ninety-two golfers “teed off” to help the Optimist Club raise $9,100 for the youth of Peachtree City and Fayette County. All funds raised will be used for the many projects and events that the club presents each year to make the community a better place to live. The team of John Fortener, Clayton Bennett, Frank Bennett and Daryl Hatfield took first place low gross. The first place net prize went to the team of Wallace Presley, Jack Mills, Matt Huddleston and Joe Guthrie. The Optimist Club sends a special thank you to their many hole sponsors and the businesses and individuals that donated door prizes. The Peachtree City Optimist Club meets every Monday at 6:30 p.m. at the Three Dollar Café on Ga. Highway 74.
