With your permission, I would like to use this forum to offer thanks to the many kind and generous people who offered their assistance and support to me and my family this summer.

As some of you may know, I was diagnosed with lung cancer and underwent surgery that required a very lengthy recovery. As news spread of my impending surgery, long-time friends as well as people I did not know well started calling with offers of assistance. I was overwhelmed with the outpouring of goodwill and prayers for me and for my family.

I cannot begin to thank everyone for the dinners, the flowers, the cards and gifts, and time spent helping with household chores and shopping, and the list goes on and on.

During this period, our son, Kevin, was in Iraq. It was an emotionally draining time for me, and without the outpouring of affection I received, I am quite sure I would not have recovered as quickly and as completely as I have.

My family and I are forever in your debt. Know that you will remain always in our hearts and in our prayers. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
