A Peachtree City man was seriously injured early Friday afternoon when his bike collided with a golf cart on the city’s cart path system, police said.

James V. Earle, 64, suffered a critical head injury during the crash and was flown by medical helicopter to Atlanta Medical Center where he remained in critical condition Monday morning, police said.

A preliminary investigation showed that Earle was riding on the cart path bridge that spans Ga. Highway 74 in the Aberdeen Village area when his bike collided with a golf cart being driven by Karen Yorkshaitis, 65, of Peachtree City, police said.

The police department’s Collision Reconstruction Team will conduct a comprehensive reconstruction of the crash, police said.
