Crumpton's crash

The southbound lanes of Ga. Highway 85 through Fayetteville had to be shut down temporarily just before 4 p.m. this afternoon while crews worked to free the victim of an auto accident who was trapped in the car.

The woman was flown to a hospital for treatment after emergency crews used “the jaws of life” to cut off her car door. Her name was not immediately released.

The woman’s station wagon likely was struck in the driver’s side door by the truck, which apparently hit the vehicle head-on. Both vehicles ended up in the center “turn” lane and the roadway was littered with shattered glass.
