Army captain returns from Iraq

Army Captain returned to Fort Hood, Texas, from Iraq, on Labor Day. Weyer was among approximately 150 soldiers from the 4th Infantry Division, the first wave of about 21,000 who will return in the coming months.

He is the son of Edward and Dianne Weyer of Fayetteville, Ga., a 1997 graduate of Fayette County High School and a 2002 Distinguished Military Graduate of North Georgia College and State University in Dahlonega, Ga. He is married to the former Amanda Skelton of Gainesville, Ga. Their daughter, Taylor Grace, was born November 20, 2005, while Weyer was deployed in Taji, Iraq. Weyer has been on active duty for four years, two of which were spent deployed to Iraq. He will return to civilian life in the coming months.

The family currently resides in Killeen, Texas, but plans to relocate closer to family and friends in the near future. Weyer is pictured with his wife and daughter while being interviewed by an Austin, Texas TV station on his return to Fort Hood, Texas. Photo/Special.
