They serve their customers, providing them with top-notch service each day. They serve their communities by linking businesses with consumers and keeping the wheels of commerce turning. And they serve all USPS employees by generating positive publicity for the Postal Service.

Seven postmasters picked up their Benjamin Awards at the National Association of Postmasters of the United States (NAPUS) convention in Ft. Worth, Texas recently. The Benjamin Award is named for Ben Franklin, the first Postmaster General, and it’s the highest USPS public relations honor that postmasters, managers, supervisors and customer relations coordinators can receive.

Honored were Fayetteville, Ga. Postmaster Doris Roden; Sabinsville, Pa. Postmaster Janie Baer; De Smet, S.D. Postmaster Kathy Price; Granger, Texas Postmaster Eva Finley; Fruithurst, Ala. Postmaster Susan Rice; Mid-America District Manager Selwyn Epperson (postmaster of Denver, Colo. when he earned the award); and Norwood, Mass. Postmaster Linda Kennedy. Eight more postmasters won the award but weren’t present for the ceremony.
