The Gym South Gymnastics Team traveled to Hilton Head, SC the weekend of Oct. 1-2 to compete against many of the top teams in the Southeast. The level 5 girls team placed 2nd, while the level 6 girls team placed eighth. Individually, several girls took home first place trophies.

For the level 5's, Shayla Moore took home first in vault with a score of 9.15. Kirstie Barkoot was first on bars and floor with scores of 8.9 and 9.2 respectively. Kathryn Woodruff also took first place on vault with a score of 8.4. Kathryn was also 2nd on floor. Lauren Spier was second on bars and second in the all-around.

In level 6, Kaitlyn Barkoot placed first on vault with a score of 9.425. Tori Kinnamon took home two third place awards on vault and bars.

The members of the Gym South team include Lauren Spier, Shamira Johnson, Shayla Moore, Kirstie Barkoot, Kathryn Woodruff in level 5. The level 6 team includes Tori Kinnamon, Kaitly Barkoot, Kaycee Bunn, and Alexis Salvanara. The teams return to action on October 15th at the Gym Nest in Macon, GA and then travel to Roswell, GA the next weekend.
