In celebration of the 50th year of Constitution Week, the Augustin Clayton Chapter DAR read “Shh! We're Writing the Constitution” written by Jean Fritz to local elementary schools. Constitution Week began Sept. 17 and ended Sept. 23 and was signed in to law by President Eisenhower in August 1956 after the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution petitioned Congress to commemorate America's most important document. Shown receiving a copy of the book from chapter member Lynn Dorney of Fayetteville is Cheryl Tuttle, media specialist at Cleveland Elementary School in Fayetteville.
