Buff's brings Buffalo, N.Y to FayettevilleFri, 09/22/2006 - 1:21pm
By: Michael Boylan
By Kristene Loughman As a kid, Jason Saleh loved chicken wings. When he was six, he wrote a book listing all his favorite things. Under the food category, sure enough, he wrote wings. So when Jason grew up, there was only one logical thing to do: open a wings restaurant. Buff’s is a new restaurant in Fayetteville specializing in authentic Buffalo style wings and sandwiches. Brothers and co-owners Jason and Eddie Saleh, born and raised in Buffalo, New York, know a thing or two about what real chicken wings and sauce should taste like, and they are determined to introduce their flavor to Fayette County. The restaurant features 13 signature wing sauces, all of which are homemade, created by the brothers just for Buff’s. They range from sesame and apricot to traditional hot and “suicide,” a sauce specially created by Eddie while he lived in Arizona, learning to appreciate the “heat of peppers”. The sauce comes with a warning sign on the menu for being “extremely hot”. Suicide wings are so hot, in fact, there is an ongoing challenge to see who can eat the most. Eat 50 suicide wings in the restaurant and Buff’s will pick up the tab. Buff’s Web site, www.buffswings.com, features photos of the current Wing King and Queen, customers who have eaten the most suicide wings to date. Along with wings, the restaurant also features hot subs and sandwiches like the steak hoagie deluxe, one of their most popular items, made up of tender sirloin steak, fried onions and green peppers, melted cheese, lettuce and tomato. Or try the chicken finger sub with hot sauce, comprised of flavorful chicken fingers piled on a sandwich with blue cheese, lettuce, tomatoes and onions. Sandwiches come in half and whole sizes and start at just $3.59. Hot dogs are also featured on the menu and the Saleh brothers import them straight from Buffalo, New York. The regular or foot-long hotdogs are served char-grilled with mustard, ketchup, relish, onions and sauerkraut. All the food on the menu is fresh and affordable, with an entree, fries and a drink coming in under $10. Daily discounts and specials are also offered, like buy one get one free hot dogs on Tuesdays or one dollar off any whole sub on Fridays. See www.buffswings.com for the full specials list and menu. “It was always my dream to open this restaurant,” Jason says. “We are really proud of our homemade sauces and our wings and we really believe in the quality of our food.” In addition to introducing Fayetteville to some of the best wings around, these restaurant owners are also committed to philanthropy and positive community involvement by building good relationships with their customers and vendors. Buff’s will be holding a grand opening celebration this Saturday, September 23, from six to eight p.m. The event will feature a wing sampling special, during which customers are invited to try the different varieties of wing flavors offered on the menu. If you want to taste authentic Buffalo flavor and see what Buff’s is all about, stop by while supplies last for a chance to try it out. Buff’s is located at 116 Bethea Road, Suite 102, in the Lee Center, one mile north of the Fayette Pavilion on Highway 314. Hours of operation are Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Friday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. The full menu, specials, information about Buff’s and their community involvement can be found online at www.buffswings.com, or call 770-460-3110 for more information. login to post comments |
