Do you like working with plants? Do you enjoy being around people? If the answer to these questions is “yes,” then you might want to become a Master Gardener Volunteer.

The Fayette County Extension Service is currently taking applications for the 2007 Master Gardener class.

This year’s class is scheduled to be on Mondays and Wednesdays from 2 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. each week beginning January 8 until March 21, 2007.

A fee of $100 will be charged for the Master Gardener textbook and other supplies.

Topics to be covered in the classes include plant physiology, soil and plant nutrition, vegetable gardening, entomology, plant pathology, turf selection and maintenance, landscape maintenance, annuals and perennial flowers and much, much more.

For more information and to receive an application concerning the Master Gardener volunteer program, visit the Fayette County Extension Service at Fayette County Administrative Complex, 140 Stonewall Avenue, Fayetteville, Ga. Suite 209 or call 770 460-5730 ext. 5412. The application deadline is October 11, 2006.
