• Air Force Airman Christen L. Haldeman has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.

During the six weeks of training, the airman studied the Air Force mission, organization, and military customs and courtesies; performed drill and ceremony marches, and received physical training, rifle marksmanship, field training exercises, and special training in human relations. In addition, airmen who complete basic training earn credits toward an associate degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Haldeman is the daughter of Mark Haldeman of Palmetto, Ga., and Anita Russell of Peachtree City, Ga. She is a 2004 graduate of McIntosh High School, Peachtree City.

• RescueCats, Inc. is proud to honor Jane Anderson on her five year anniversary with RescueCats, Inc. Anderson has volunteered with RescueCats for the past five years and has worn many hats. She spent nearly every Sunday for several years doing adoption fairs at PETsMART, has organized and held yard sales and silent auction fundraisers, transported animals and picked up donations and cleans and cares for the cats weekly.

• Joseph Calvo, 14, and Paul Calvo, 16, were accepted into the Georgia Academy of Mathematics, Engineering, and Science at Middle Georgia College. Their matriculation began on the Middle Georgia College campus in August. The Calvos are from Fayetteville, Ga. and attended Sandy Creek High School prior to their acceptance.

Mitchell is the son of Luther and Bertha Mitchell of Fayetteville, Ga. He received a bachelor's degree in 2003 from Morgan State University, Baltimore, Md.
