Traveling Ga. Highway 54 West in Fayetteville will soon call for paying closer attention to the flow of traffic. Four new traffic signals are in the works at Piedmont Fayette Hospital and at Tiger Trail.

City Engineer Don Easterbrook said the project to install a privately funded traffic light at Piedmont Fayette Hospital is approximately one month away. Calls were made by Fayetteville Planning and Zoning Commission last year to have a traffic signal installed as a way to help prevent accidents as people entered and exited the hospital.

New traffic signals have been installed but not activated at three intersections further east on Hwy. 54. Easterbrook said the signals at the Villages at LaFayette and those at West Lanier and West Stonewall and Tiger Trail are privately funded and the turn-on date has not been set.
