John W. Munson, 84, Peachtree City, died Sept. 15, 2006.He was born March 28, 1922 in Herkimer, N. Y. He was preceded in death by a brother, Ed, and sisters, Josephine, Frances Ann, and Judy. He moved with his family at an early age to West Exeter, N. Y. He served with the United States Army air corps in World War II, in the Pacific. After the war he married and they lived in West Exeter until he sold his plumbing supply business, BGM Supply in Utica, N. Y. in 1979. He retired to Hartwell, Ga., where he lived for 25 years. He was member of the Hartwell Golf Club and an avid hunter, fisherman, and gardener. They moved to Peachtree City in 2004. Memorial services were at the Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home chapel with Pastor Daniel Schepmann officiating. Survivors include his wife, Ethel Munson, Peachtree City; a son, Gary and Susan Munson; a granddaughter, Molly; and a brother, Carroll and Bettina Munson, Bluffton, S. C. Memorial donations may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church, 700 Ardenlee Pkwy., Peachtree city, GA 30269. Metro Crematory, Peachtree City, was in charge. login to post comments |
