Catherine Stewart Young, 88, Fayetteville, formerly of College Park, died Sept. 12, 2006. She was born Dec. 17, 1917 in Cedartown. She was preceded in death by her husband, Max P. Young. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in College Park. Memorial services were at Sunset Hill Cemetery, Valdosta. Survivors include daughters, Dinah Y. Shirley, Fayetteville, and Katherine “Kay” Young, Atlanta; a grandson, R. Max Shirley, College Park; and brothers, Richard M. Stewart, Valdosta, and William F. Stewart, Alpharetta. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville, handled the local arrangements.
